Leucojum aestivum Gravetye Giant
Also related to Galanthus nivalis circa 1594, this prized 1920's hybrid has umbels of pendant, bell-shaped, milky-white flowers with faint green tips and strap-shaped foliage. More moisture tolerant than other bulbs, this hybrid has large flowers and is good near ponds or streams although it still needs to be planted above the high water marks. This valuable naturalizer thrives in areas of dappled sunlight. Bulb size: 14 cm/up. May/June. Plant 6" deep and 6" apart. HZ 4-9. Height: 20".
