Narcissus Merel's Favourite
(2 W-Y) This award-winning 2011 Karel van der Veek hybrid has a substantive, absolutely huge, high contrast flower that attracts serious attention. Sweetly scented, it has a 4.8”-wide white perianth and a cylindrical, bright yellow cup that is almost long enough to be classified as a Trumpet. The overlapping petals are graced with an echo of the cup’s vivid yellowness around their base. Deer- and rodent-resistant, the cups are more than one-third, but less than the length of their petals (perianth). Narcissus Class: Large Cupped (Royal Horticultural Society Division 2). Bulb size: 12/14 cm. Bloom time: April. Horticultural zones 3-7. Plant 6" to 8" deep and 6" apart. Height: 14” to 16”.
